Surprises
* Emilia Perez led the film nominations with 10 nods, including for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress for Cynthia Erivo. The film is a Spanish-language musical that tells the story of a young woman who dreams of becoming a singer.
* The Bear led the television nominations with five nods, including for Best Drama Series, Best Actor for Jeremy Allen White, and Best Supporting Actress for Ayo Edebiri. The show is a comedy-drama about a young chef who takes over his family's Chicago restaurant.
* Anora received four nominations, including for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress for Nicole Kidman. The film is a psychological thriller about a woman who becomes obsessed with a young girl.
Snubs
* The Fabelmans was snubbed for Best Picture, despite being considered a frontrunner. The film is a semi-autobiographical drama from Steven Spielberg about his childhood.
* Daniel Craig was snubbed for Best Actor for his performance in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The film is a sequel to the 2019 hit Knives Out.
* M3GAN was snubbed for Best Horror Film. The film is a Blumhouse production about a life-like robot that turns evil.
