A 19-year-old employee was found dead at a Walmart store in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Saturday night. Police are investigating the sudden death, but no foul play is suspected at this time.
The employee was found unresponsive in the store's break room at around 9:30 p.m. by a co-worker. Paramedics were called to the scene, but the employee was pronounced dead.
The store was closed for several hours while police investigated. It reopened on Sunday morning.
Walmart Canada released a statement expressing condolences to the employee's family and friends.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and friend," the statement said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time."
The employee's death is the second sudden death at a Walmart store in Halifax in recent months. In August, a 20-year-old employee was found dead in the store's bathroom.
Police are continuing to investigate both deaths.
