Happy Dussehra Wishes

Vijaya Dashami, also known as Dussehra, is one of the most important festivals celebrated in India. It is a day of great joy and celebration, and is observed with great enthusiasm and gaiety. The festival commemorates the victory of good over evil, and the triumph of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana.

Why is Dussehra Celebrated?

The story of Dussehra is rooted in the epic Ramayana. Lord Rama, the prince of Ayodhya, was exiled to the forest for 14 years. During his exile, his wife Sita was abducted by the demon king Ravana and taken to his kingdom in Lanka. Lord Rama, with the help of his brother Lakshmana and the monkey god Hanuman, went to Lanka to rescue Sita. After a great battle, Lord Rama killed Ravana and rescued Sita.
Dussehra is celebrated to commemorate this victory of good over evil. On this day, people burn effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad (the son of Ravana) to symbolize the victory of good over evil.
