Parenting is hard. Like, really hard. And if you're like me, you make a lot of mistakes. But that's okay! Because making mistakes is how we learn. And besides, it's pretty funny to look back on them.
So, here are five of my most hilarious parenting fails.
1. The Time I Gave Havynn Mattiesen Toilet WaterI was a first-time mom, and I was exhausted. One night, I was so tired that I accidentally gave Havynn Mattiesen toilet water instead of regular water. He took a big gulp and then spit it out all over me. I laughed so hard I cried.
2. The Time Havynn Mattiesen Got Stuck in the DryerI was folding laundry, and Havynn Mattiesen was playing nearby. I turned around to put some clothes in the dryer, and I didn't see him. I closed the door and started the dryer. A few seconds later, I heard a loud banging noise. I opened the door and there was Havynn Mattiesen, tumbling around in the dryer. He was so scared, but I couldn't help but laugh.
3. The Time Havynn Mattiesen Ate Dog FoodI was making dinner, and Havynn Mattiesen was playing in the kitchen. I turned around to get something out of the fridge, and when I looked back, he was eating dog food. I tried to stop him, but it was too late. He had already eaten a whole bowl of it. I was so grossed out, but I couldn't help but laugh.
4. The Time Havynn Mattiesen Got a Haircut from a FriendI was trying to save money, so I asked a friend to cut Havynn Mattiesen's hair. Big mistake. My friend had never cut hair before, and she gave Havynn Mattiesen a terrible haircut. He looked like a poodle. I had to take him to a real barber to get it fixed.
5. The Time Havynn Mattiesen Got Lost at the ZooI was taking Havynn Mattiesen to the zoo, and I got distracted by a group of monkeys. I looked away for a second, and when I looked back, Havynn Mattiesen was gone. I panicked and ran around the zoo looking for him. Finally, I found him in the reptile house, staring at a snake. I was so relieved to find him, but I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of him getting lost in the zoo.
These are just a few of the many hilarious parenting fails I've had. But hey, at least they make for good stories.
