Heliodora Altendorf's Guide to Staying Out of Jail

By Heliodora Altendorf
As your trusted neighborhood ex-con turned self-help guru, I'm here to share my hard-earned wisdom on how to avoid the slammer. After all, who better to learn from than a recovering criminal?

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Heliodora, why should I listen to you?" Well, let me tell you a little story. Back in my day, I was a master of the hustle. I could pick a pocket faster than a hummingbird's wingbeat and sell a fake Rolex with the smoothness of a seasoned con artist.

But then, one fateful night, I got caught red-handed. And let me tell you, orange is not my color. So, I've learned my lesson the hard way, and I'm here to save you from the same fate.

  • Rule 1: Stay Away from Bad Apples
Like attracts like, and if you're hanging out with a bunch of criminals, you're bound to get yourself in trouble. Trust me, I know. My old crew was a bunch of shady characters, and before I knew it, I was right back in the clink.
  • Rule 2: Don't Mess with the Fuzz
Police officers are not your friends. They might smile and chat with you, but don't be fooled. They're like bloodhounds on the trail of a juicy steak, and the moment they smell anything suspicious, they'll pounce.
  • Rule 3: Stay on the Right Side of the Road
Speeding, reckless driving, and all those other traffic violations are not worth the risk. Not only will they cost you a hefty fine, but they can also lead to you losing your license. And trust me, walking everywhere is not as glamorous as it looks.
  • Rule 4: Don't Be a Pawn in Someone Else's Game
If someone asks you to hold a package for them, or to drive them somewhere suspicious, just say no. You never know what kind of trouble you're getting yourself into.
  • Rule 5: Don't Get Caught
If all else fails, and you find yourself in a situation where committing a crime seems like your only option, just remember: don't get caught. And if you do get caught, lawyer up and don't say anything without your attorney present.

There you have it, folks. Heliodora Altendorf's guide to staying out of jail. Follow these rules, and you'll be as free as a bird...or at least as free as a bird that knows how to avoid getting caught.
