The future

The first part of the 2018/19 Hockeyettan season is now over and we can finally take a look at the standings and see how the teams are doing.

Before the season started, many people expected a tight race at the top of the table, and that's exactly what we've seen so far. The top four teams are separated by just three points, and there are still plenty of games left to play.

BIK Karlskoga is currently in first place with 45 points, followed by Västerås IK with 42 points, AIK with 42 points, and Södertälje SK with 41 points.

In the middle of the table, there are a number of teams battling for playoff spots. Mora IK, Tingsryds AIF, and Östersund are all within striking distance of the top four, while Väsby IK, Kristianstads IK, and Almtuna IS are all in the mix for the final playoff spot.

The relegation battle

At the bottom of the table, things are a little more clear-cut. HC Vita Hästen and Karlskrona HK are both in danger of being relegated to HockeyAllsvenskan, and they will need to start winning games soon if they want to avoid the drop.

The surprises

One of the biggest surprises of the season so far has been the performance of AIK. The team was expected to be a contender, but they have struggled at times and are currently sitting in fourth place.

Another surprise has been the performance of Väsby IK. The team was expected to be one of the weaker teams in the league, but they have surprised everyone with their strong start to the season.

The disappointments

One of the biggest disappointments of the season so far has been the performance of HC Vita Hästen. The team was expected to be a playoff contender, but they have struggled all season long and are now in danger of being relegated.

Another disappointment has been the performance of Karlskrona HK. The team was expected to be a top-four team, but they have struggled all season long and are now in danger of being relegated.

The playoffs

The Hockeyettan playoffs are scheduled to start on March 13th. The top four teams in the standings will receive a bye to the second round, while the teams finishing 5th through 12th will play in the first round.

The playoffs are always an exciting time of year, and this year's playoffs are sure to be no different. With so many teams in contention for the championship, it's anyone's guess who will come out on top.
