Holy Monday

I never understood the fascination with Holy Monday. Sure, it's a holiday, but so is Labor Day, and nobody gets excited about that. And nobody eats a giant sugar bunny on Labor Day! But for some reason, Holy Monday gets all the hype. It's like the Super Bowl of Christian holidays.

Well, this year I decided to get to the bottom of it. I went to church, I talked to priests, I even read the Bible. And you know what? I still don't get it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-Holy Monday. I just think it's a little overrated. I mean, what's the big deal? It's not like Jesus rose from the dead on Holy Monday. That happened on Easter Sunday. So why is Holy Monday even a thing?

I guess it's because it's the day before Easter Sunday. And Easter Sunday is a big deal. But still, why not just celebrate Easter Sunday? That's what we do for Christmas and Thanksgiving. We don't have Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving Eve. We just have the big day.

I think the reason Holy Monday is so popular is because it's a day to eat candy. And who doesn't love candy? Especially chocolate candy. And what's the most popular chocolate candy? That's right, chocolate bunnies. And chocolate bunnies are everywhere on Holy Monday. They're in the stores, they're in the churches, they're even in the streets.

So if you're looking for a reason to celebrate Holy Monday, here's your reason: chocolate bunnies. And if you're not into chocolate bunnies, well, then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you can just stay home and watch TV.

But for those of you who are into chocolate bunnies, I say embrace the Holy Monday madness. Eat as many chocolate bunnies as you can. And have a happy Easter Sunday!
