South Korea's national soccer team coach Hong Myung-bo (55) will continue his schedule of meetings with key players.
“Coach Hong Myung-bo met with Son Heung-min at Mocher in London, England, the previous afternoon local time,” a source from the Korea Football Association (KFA) said on Tuesday, adding, ”The two met on the afternoon of the 19th and talked alone for about an hour as Tottenham will play Queens Park Rangers in a preseason practice match on the 20th.”
Hong Myung-bo traveled to Europe on May 15 to appoint a foreign coaching staff. He chose “captain” Son Heung-min as his first player to meet with him after taking over the reins of the national team.
“On his trip to Europe, Hong Myung-bo was accompanied by an entourage staff member who served as an interpreter, but he met alone with Son Heung-min,” Newsis reported on Tuesday.
A KFA official declined to elaborate, saying, “Whether or not anything was said is a matter for the coach to reveal later.” “Immediately after meeting with Son Heung-min, Hong Myung-bo traveled to Munich, Germany, on the 20th and met with Kim Min-jae, but it was not known what they talked about,” the official said.
“Coach Hong Myung-bo will travel to Mainz to meet with Lee Jae-sung,” Newsis 사설 토토사이트 reported on the 21st, adding, ”Schedules are being coordinated with other European players such as Hwang In-beom and Seol Young-woo, but nothing has been finalized yet.”
It shouldn't come as a surprise that Hong Myung-bo has been meeting with key players from the national team. In a short press conference held at Incheon International Airport on Nov. 15, the coach said, “Since the (European) players are in pre-season, we will coordinate the schedule to meet with them.”
However, there is no specific date for the coach's return to Korea and future plans. Hong is expected to return home as soon as he has finalized the meeting with the European players and the appointment of the coaching staff.
