My name is Koji Senelnick, and I used to be a worrier. I worried about everything, from the big things like my job and my health to the small things like whether or not I had enough toilet paper. But then I had a revelation: I realized that worrying was a waste of time.
I know what you're thinking: "That's easy for you to say, Koji Senelnick. You're a successful businessman with a beautiful wife and a lovely home. Of course, you don't have anything to worry about." But that's not true. I have plenty of things to worry about. But I've learned that worrying doesn't make anything better. In fact, it usually makes things worse.
So how did I learn to stop worrying? I started by practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment without judgment. When I started practicing mindfulness, I realized that I was spending a lot of time dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. But when I focused on the present moment, I found that I was much calmer and less stressed.
I also started to challenge my negative thoughts. When I found myself worrying about something, I would ask myself if there was any evidence to support my worries. More often than not, there wasn't. And even when there was, I found that I could usually come up with a plan to deal with the situation.
For example, I used to worry a lot about my job. I was afraid that I would lose my job or that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the demands of my job. But then I realized that I was good at my job and that I had a lot of support from my colleagues. I also realized that even if I did lose my job, I would be able to find another one.
Challenging my negative thoughts helped me to see that my worries were unfounded. And once I realized that, I was able to stop worrying about them.
Of course, I still worry sometimes. But now I know that worrying is a waste of time. And I have the tools to help me stop worrying when I need to.
If you're a worrier like I used to be, I encourage you to try mindfulness and challenging your negative thoughts. It's not easy, but it's worth it.
So what are you waiting for? Start worrying less and living more today!
