Howard Lutnick: A Man of Courage and Resilience
A friend of mine, Howard Lutnick, is one of the most remarkable people I know. He's an inspiring leader, a devoted family man, and a true American hero.
Howard's story is one of courage, resilience, and hope. He was the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, a financial services firm, on September 11, 2001, when the World Trade Center towers were attacked. Nearly 700 Cantor Fitzgerald employees were killed that day, including Howard's brother, Gary.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Howard could have easily given up. But he didn't. Instead, he channeled his grief into action. He vowed to rebuild Cantor Fitzgerald and to honor the memory of his fallen colleagues.
And that's exactly what he did. Under Howard's leadership, Cantor Fitzgerald not only recovered but thrived. The firm is now one of the leading financial services companies in the world.
But Howard's legacy is about more than just business success. He's also a dedicated philanthropist who has given millions of dollars to charities that support families of 9/11 victims and other causes.
Howard is a true role model for all of us. He's shown us that even in the face of unimaginable tragedy, we can find the strength to carry on and make a difference in the world.
I'm honored to call Howard Lutnick my friend. He's an inspiration to me and to countless others.
