Hurricane Milton Ireland

The Department of Meteorology has warned of a potential hurricane that could hit the Irish coast on Thursday evening. Hurricane Milton was last reported to be 1,000 miles off the coast of Florida and is moving in a northeasterly direction.

If the hurricane does hit, it could bring with it heavy rain, strong winds and flooding. The Department of Meteorology has advised people to prepare for the possibility of evacuations.

Hurricane Milton is the first major hurricane to threaten Ireland since 2005. In that year, Hurricane Ophelia caused widespread damage and flooding.
