I Can't Believe I Thought That!

We all have those moments where we think something terrible, something we wish we could take back. Maybe it's a judgmental thought about someone's appearance, a mean-spirited comment, or a dark fantasy.
These thoughts can be a source of shame and embarrassment. We worry that we're bad people for having them, and we fear that others will think less of us if they find out.
But the truth is, everyone has these thoughts. They're a part of being human. The important thing is not to dwell on them, but to recognize them for what they are: fleeting thoughts that don't define us.
I used to think I was a terrible person, a monster hiding inside a kind, caring exterior. I would judge myself harshly for every negative thought, every mean-spirited word, every dark fantasy. I felt like I was living a double life, and I was terrified that one day my true nature would be revealed.
But then I realized that everyone has these thoughts. They're not evil, they're just human. And once I accepted that, they lost their power over me.
I'm not saying that we should give into our negative thoughts or act on them. But we don't have to be ashamed of them either. They're just a part of us, and they don't make us bad people.
So, the next time you have a negative thought, don't beat yourself up about it. Instead, just acknowledge it, say, "Meh, that's just one of those thoughts," and let it go. You'll be surprised at how quickly these thoughts lose their power when you stop giving them so much attention.
And remember, you're not alone. We all have those moments where we think something terrible. But we don't have to let those thoughts define us. We can choose to focus on the good in ourselves and in others, and we can work to make the world a better place.
