IND A vs Oman: Team India A clinches a thrilling victory




The Indian cricket team A, led by Unmukt Chand, has emerged victorious in their match against Oman in the ongoing ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. The match, which was held in Muscat, Oman, saw India A chasing down a target of 141 runs with six wickets to spare.

The Indian team got off to a solid start, with openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Prithvi Shaw putting on a 50-run partnership for the first wicket. Jaiswal was dismissed for 30, but Shaw continued to play aggressively, scoring 42 runs off 29 balls before he was caught behind off the bowling of Khawar Ali.

Captain Unmukt Chand then joined Shaw in the middle and the duo added 60 runs for the second wicket. Chand played a captain's knock, scoring 46 runs off 38 balls before he was dismissed by Mohammad Nadeem.

With India A needing 31 runs to win from the last four overs, Tilak Varma and Ramandeep Singh took charge. Varma, who had earlier dropped a catch at deep mid-wicket, redeemed himself with a quick-fire 25 runs off 17 balls. Singh, on the other hand, remained unbeaten on 13 runs off 7 balls, hitting the winning runs with a boundary.

For Oman, Khawar Ali was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2/29 in his four overs. Mohammad Nadeem and Fayyaz Butt also chipped in with a wicket each.

The victory takes India A to the top of the Group B standings with six points from three matches. They will next face Afghanistan in the semi-finals on Saturday, March 18. Oman, on the other hand, will play Pakistan in the other semi-final on the same day.

The ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup is a One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket tournament for the emerging teams of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) member nations. The inaugural tournament is being held in Oman from March 14 to 25, 2023.

The eight teams competing in the tournament are: Afghanistan, Bangladesh A, Hong Kong, India A, Kuwait, Nepal, Oman, and Pakistan. The tournament is being played in a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals.
