IND vs AUS 5th Test: Australia Takes Control!

All You Need to Know About the Thrill and Excitement

Story Time!
The fifth and final Test match between India and Australia in Sydney was full of suspense and excitement. The match began on a cloudy morning at the Sydney Cricket Ground with both teams eager to end the series on a high note.
Australia Dominates Day 1
Australia won the toss and chose to field first. The Indian batters struggled against the pace and bounce of the Sydney pitch, with only Ravindra Jadeja (26) and Shreyas Iyer (30) managing to score in double figures. Australia's star pacer, Scott Boland, was in excellent form, taking 4 wickets for just 31 runs. India was bundled out for a meager 185 runs in 72.2 overs.
India Fights Back on Day 2
On Day 2, India fought back with the ball. Mohammed Siraj struck early, dismissing opener Usman Khawaja for a duck. Jasprit Bumrah also joined the party, taking the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne for 16. Australia lost 4 wickets for just 23 runs, with India sensing a chance to get back into the match.

Australia Steadies the Ship

However, Australia steadied the ship through the middle overs, thanks to a solid partnership between Steve Smith and Matt Renshaw. Smith scored a brilliant half-century, while Renshaw provided valuable support. By the end of Day 2, Australia had clawed their way back to 175 for 5, still trailing India by 10 runs.
India's Comeback Fades
India's hopes of a comeback faded as they failed to take regular wickets on Day 3. Travis Head and Alex Carey batted superbly, putting Australia in a strong position. Head scored a century, while Carey contributed with a half-century. Australia declared their innings on 475 for 4, giving India a target of 408 to win.
India's Chase Falters
India's chase got off to a poor start, losing Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul cheaply. Cheteshwar Pujara showed some resistance with a half-century, but the Indian middle order collapsed once again. India was eventually bowled out for 252, losing the match by 152 runs.
