The Indian cricket team is currently playing a two-Test series against Bangladesh in India. The first Test match is being played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore and the second Test match will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
India won the toss and elected to bat first. The Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, got off to a good start and put on a partnership of 93 runs for the first wicket. Sharma was dismissed for 49 runs, but Gill went on to score a century. He was eventually dismissed for 110 runs.
Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara also made significant contributions to the Indian innings. Kohli scored 94 runs, while Pujara scored 82 runs. India declared their innings at 493 for 6 wickets.
In reply, Bangladesh was bowled out for 150 runs in their first innings. Only Liton Das (45 runs) and Shakib Al Hasan (38 runs) offered any resistance to the Indian bowlers. Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the Indian bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 30 runs.
India enforced the follow-on and Bangladesh was bowled out for 231 runs in their second innings. Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored for Bangladesh with 64 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the Indian bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 54 runs.
India won the match by an innings and 130 runs.
The second Test match will begin on December 22nd.
