Indiana State topples Ball State in thriller
Hoosiers put together furious rally to snap four-game losing streak
After dropping four heartbreakers in a row, the Indiana State Sycamores finally found themselves on the right side of a nail-biter, fending off a Ball State squad in a 79-77 slugfest. It was a hard-fought battle that went down to the wire, but the Sycamores defense held strong in the final minutes to secure the win.
The Sycamores found themselves with their backs against the wall early, trailing by as many as 15 points in the first half. However, they refused to give up, chipping away at the deficit throughout the entirety of the second frame.
With just over three minutes remaining and still down by 7, the Sycamores put together a furious rally, fueled by a pair of clutch three-pointers from senior guard Jake LaRavia. The Cardinals had a chance to tie the game with mere seconds remaining, but their shot clanged off the rim and into the hands of Xavier Bledson, who secured the victory for his team.
