Inoue vs Doheny

Naoya Inoue, the Japanese "Monster" has been on a roll lately. He has won his last 23 fights and is currently the WBA, IBF, and WBO bantamweight champion. Hiroto Kyoguchi and Nonito Donaire were among the champions that faced Inoue. Inoue is a heavy favorite against Doheny, but anything can happen in boxing.
Jason Doheny, an unheralded Irish fighter, is the current WBC silver bantamweight champion, having won it in November of 2022. He has a record of 29 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws. He is a southpaw with a good jab and a solid chin.
The fight is scheduled for June 25th, 2023, at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. It is expected to be a close fight, but Inoue is the clear favorite.
The Fight
The fight started with Inoue coming out aggressively, trying to land his power shots. Doheny was able to weather the early storm and started to find his rhythm. He was able to land some good shots of his own and Inoue started to show some respect.
The fight continued to be close, with both fighters having their moments. Inoue was able to land some big shots, but Doheny was able to take them and keep coming forward.
In the 11th round, Inoue landed a devastating left hook that sent Doheny crashing to the canvas. Doheny was able to get up, but he was clearly hurt. Inoue then landed a flurry of punches that forced the referee to stop the fight.
The Aftermath
Inoue won the fight by 11th-round TKO. It was a hard-fought victory, but Inoue showed why he is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Doheny gave a good account of himself, but he was simply outclassed by Inoue. He is a tough fighter with a lot of heart, but he needs to improve his overall skills if he wants to compete with the elite fighters in the division.
The Future
Inoue is now looking to unify the bantamweight division. He is expected to fight the winner of the John Riel Casimero vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux fight.
Doheny will need to rebuild his career after this loss. He is still a young fighter with a lot of potential, but he needs to learn from his mistakes and come back stronger.
