IPL Retention




On October 31, 2025, the Indian Premier League (IPL) teams will announce their retained players for the upcoming season. Each team is allowed to retain a maximum of six players, either during the retention phase or by using the Right-To-Match (RTM) card in the mega auction.

The retention rules are as follows:

  • A franchise can retain a maximum of six players, either in the retention phase or by using the Right-To-Match (RTM) card in the mega auction.
  • A team can retain a maximum of five capped players and one uncapped player.
  • The salary of a retained player will be deducted from the team's salary cap for the upcoming season.

  • Royal Challengers Bangalore: Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Harshal Patel, Josh Hazlewood, Dinesh Karthik
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad: Kane Williamson, Nicholas Pooran, Umran Malik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Aiden Markram, Washington Sundar
  • Delhi Capitals: Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mitchell Marsh, David Warner
