Ireland Snow and Ice Weather Warning

Winter is coming, and it's bringing plenty of snow and ice with it!

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow low temperature/ice warning for the entire country, meaning that wintry hazards including frost and ice are likely, with potential for sleet, snow, and hail in some areas.

In addition, an Orange warning for "significant snowfall" has been issued for five counties in the south: Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford.

The warnings will come into effect from midnight on Wednesday and will remain in place until 12 pm on Thursday.

Met Éireann is urging people to be aware of the hazardous conditions and to take precautions such as:

  • Driving slowly and carefully
  • Allowing extra time for travel
  • Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear
  • Being aware of the risk of slips and falls

If you must travel, please be sure to check the latest weather forecast and road conditions before you go.
