Is Hurling League final a knockout for Tipperary?

The Murphys Irish Stout Hurling League final takes place on Sunday, April 5th, in Croke Park, Dublin, with Tipperary set to take on local rivals Waterford.

Tipperary have never won the league title without going on to secure the Liam MacCarthy Cup at the end of the season.

In fact, of the past five league winners, only Kilkenny in 2016 failed to go on and land hurling's top prize.

Speaking after the game, Tipperary captain Seamus Callanan said he was "delighted" with the victory.

  • "It was a tough game, but we got the win in the end."
  • "We're now looking forward to the league final against Waterford."
  • "We know it will be a tough game, but we're confident we can get the win."

However, Waterford will be no pushovers. The Deise have been in impressive form this season, winning all five of their games in the league.

Waterford manager Liam Cahill said he was "very happy" with his team's performance in the semi-final.

  • "It was a great win for us."
  • "We're now looking forward to the league final against Tipperary."
  • "We know it will be a tough game, but we're confident we can get the win."

The league final is set to be a close encounter, with both teams in good form.

Tipperary will be looking to continue their impressive record of winning the league title when they go on to win the MacCarthy Cup.

However, Waterford will be hoping to cause an upset and end Tipperary's record.

The league final is sure to be a thrilling encounter, and it is one that no GAA fan will want to miss.
