Jahrome Hughes is a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer who plays as a halfback for the Melbourne Storm in the National Rugby League (NRL), and the New Zealand Māori and New Zealand at international level. He is a NRL premiership-winning player of 2020.
Hughes was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and moved to the Gold Coast, Queensland, with his family when he was a teenager. He played his junior rugby league for the Tugun Seahawks and the Keebra Park Titans. In 2013, he was signed by the Gold Coast Titans and made his NRL debut in 2014. He played for the Titans for three seasons before joining the Melbourne Storm in 2017.
Hughes has been a regular member of the Storm team since his arrival, and has helped the club win the NRL premiership in 2020. He has also represented New Zealand Māori and New Zealand at international level.
