In the story Mrs. Vaan Daan was a very friendly person she was very kind hearted and she had a son named Peter Vaan Daan and he was a good boy but he died at age 15 in the holocaust like his mother and father. Mrs. Vaan Daan was one of the few females in hiding with others in the annex but later got caught and became of the prisoners sent from Westerbork in Holland to Auschwitz in Poland on September 2, 1944 as the Nazis ( Green Police ) invaded and took people and mistreated the or killed them in jails and other places.

During her time in Auschwitz she got separated from her Husband and Son, that really broke her heart to be away from the people she loved the most but at her time in Prison she met Anne and Margot but later on got separated from them as well which left her broken again and she felt alone not physically but mentally, but in the story while she was hiding in the annex she thought they'll all be okay because Mrs. Vaan Daan and her son even had talks about marrying a female and good conversations until the building that everyone was hiding in got raided by Police because a man named Willem Van Maaren got tips of fraudulent food-ration cards and illegal employment were happening in the building so he called two police men and when the raid happened they found everyone unexpectedly and they all got arrested and Killed in Prisons except Mr. Frank who survived the holocaust and published his daughters diary which gave all the details and information about the story " The Diary of Anne Frank ". Auguste van Pels | Anne Frank House
