Jason Dunstall

"I was 15 years old when I first saw Jason Dunstall play. I was instantly hooked. He was the most exciting player I had ever seen. He was fast, strong, and had a knack for finding the goals. I knew right then and there that I wanted to be just like him."
Jason Dunstall is one of the greatest footballers of all time. He played 269 games for Hawthorn and kicked 1254 goals. He was a four-time premiership player, a two-time Coleman Medallist, and a three-time All-Australian.
Dunstall was born in Horsham, Victoria, in 1964. He played junior football for Horsham Saints before being recruited to Hawthorn in 1982. He made his debut in 1983 and quickly became one of the most popular players in the AFL.
Dunstall was a key forward who was known for his marking ability, his goal-kicking accuracy, and his toughness. He was also a vocal leader on and off the field.
Dunstall retired from football in 1998. He was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame in 2003.
I had the privilege of meeting Jason Dunstall a few years ago. He was just as friendly and approachable as I had imagined. He was happy to sign autographs and take photos with fans.
Jason Dunstall is a great example of what it means to be a champion. He was a gifted footballer, but he also worked hard and dedicated himself to his sport. He is an inspiration to young people everywhere.
