Jayden Daniels appears to have suffered a dislocated elbow in the first half against Northern Arizona and is questionable to return, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Daniels was injured on a run late in the first quarter. He was hit hard by a defender and his arm appeared to bend awkwardly. Daniels immediately grabbed his elbow and was in obvious pain.
Daniels was helped off the field by trainers and went to the locker room. He did not return to the game.
If Daniels is unable to return, it would be a big blow to LSU. He is the team's starting quarterback and one of its most dynamic players.
Garrett Nussmeier replaced Daniels at quarterback. Nussmeier is a true freshman and has not played much this season.
The injury to Daniels is a reminder of how fragile the quarterback position is. Even the best quarterbacks can be injured at any time.
