Future UK Climate Change

The world is always changing around us before our eyes. Some changes aren't that major and won't do much damage, but others are slowly changing life as we know it. Here are three of some of the major climate changes that are happening in the UK today.

  • Temperature continuously increasing

  • Precipitation amounts rising and falling

  • Sea level rising

  • Air temperature throughout the UK is supposed to continue to rise, especially in the summer. Most of the major changes are supposed to occur in the southeast of the UK. The average summer temperature is likely to rise 3 to 4 degrees Celsius by the 2080's.

  • Precipitation amounts are supposed to rise and fall throughout the UK. The greatest increase of precipitation is supposed to come in the winter along the west coast. This now leads to summer becoming drier with harsh drought conditions. The average summer UK precipitation could decrease from between 11% and 27% by the 2080's. With drier summers, that means that during the winter there will be intense episodes of precipitation.

  • The sea level is always going to continuously rise because of the help of global warming. The average amount that the sea level is expected to rise is 93 to 190 cm, but the highest part of that range isn't likely to happen during the 21st century.

  • My opinion on all of there predictions is that I believe that these will come true. Maybe not at the exact numbers, but there will still be pretty big changes. After reading all the articles about UK climate change, and seeing all the causes and weather patterns, it is easily shown why all this is expected to happen. Now some of these changes could be helped and slowed down if people would do something about it, but most people don't even realize major changes happening around them. People need to start realizing what is going to happen to their future climate, because adaptations will eventually need to be made.
