Jon Berti: The Swiss Army Knife of the Miami Marlins

If I had to describe Jon Berti in one sentence, it would be that he's the Swiss Army Knife of the Miami Marlins. He's a versatile player who can do it all. In fact, he's become one of the most valuable players on the team, despite not being a household name across the league.
Berti is a maestro when it comes to fielding. Maybe the most positionally flexible player in the MLB, Berti has played every position on the field except for catcher, pitcher, and first base. This past year, he split his time between second base, center field, left field, right field, third base, and shortstop. His versatility allows the Marlins to put him in any position they need him, and he'll do a stellar job. No matter where you put him, he's a defensive wizard. His glove will make you want to scream "abracadabra" because he makes the impossible look easy.
Offensively, Berti may not hit a lot of home runs, but he gets on base and knows how to use his speed. In 2023, Berti had 117 hits. Of those 117 hits, 27 were doubles and 11 were triples. He was ranked in the top 10 in the league for triples in 2022. Berti is also a threat to steal a bag. In the past four seasons, he has stolen 111 bases.
Berti has become a key piece of the Marlins' lineup and will continue to be so in the future. He's a spark plug for the team, an indispensable Swiss Army Knife. Miami is happy to have him and wouldn't trade him for the world.
