Jonathan Tan: The Swimmer Who Conquered Adversity




Jonathan Tan was born with cerebral palsy, a condition that affects muscle tone, movement, and coordination. But he didn't let that stop him from pursuing his passion for swimming.
Jonathan started swimming at the age of 5. He loved the feeling of being in the water and found that it helped him to improve his strength and coordination.
At first, Jonathan struggled to keep up with the other swimmers. But he didn't give up. He practiced every day, and gradually, he started to get better.
By the time he was 10 years old, Jonathan was competing in swimming competitions. He won his first medal at the age of 12.

In 2016, Jonathan represented Singapore at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He finished 7th in the 100-meter breaststroke.
