Josh Taylor




Josh Taylor is a Scottish professional boxer who has held the undisputed light-welterweight title since 2022. He is a former two-time WBC silver light-welterweight champion, having held the title from 2017 to 2019 and from 2020 to 2022. He is also the first Scottish boxer to hold the undisputed title at light-welterweight.

Taylor was born in Prestonpans, Scotland, on 2 January 1991. He began boxing at the age of 15 and quickly rose through the ranks. He won the Scottish amateur title in 2010 and the British amateur title in 2011. He represented Scotland at the 2012 Olympics, where he was eliminated in the second round.

Taylor turned professional in 2015 and won his first 13 fights. He won the WBC silver light-welterweight title in 2017 by defeating Ohara Davies. He defended the title successfully three times before losing it to Regis Prograis in 2019.

Taylor regained the WBC silver light-welterweight title in 2020 by defeating Apinun Khongsong. He defended the title once before winning the undisputed light-welterweight title in 2022 by defeating José Ramírez. Taylor is currently undefeated as a professional boxer.
