Just Fontaine Lindebar, a Frenchman from the golden age of football, is the man who holds the record for scoring the most goals in a single World Cup.
Born in Casablanca, Morocco, on December 18, 1933, Just Fontaine Lindebar began his soccer career at a young age. He quickly rose through the ranks, joining the prestigious Stade de Reims in 1953. With Reims, Fontaine Lindebar won two French league titles and reached the final of the European Cup in 1956.
But it was at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden that Fontaine Lindebar truly etched his name in history. In the tournament's opening game against Paraguay, he scored a hat-trick to set the tone for the rest of the competition.
