Justin Tafa

Justin Tafa is a New Zealand mixed martial artist who competes in the heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is the reigning WBO Asia Pacific Heavyweight Champion and has fought in promotions such as the Australian Fighting Championship (AFC) and Hex Fight Series.

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Tafa began training in boxing at a young age and later transitioned to mixed martial arts. He made his professional MMA debut in 2011 and quickly rose through the ranks, winning his first five fights by knockout or submission.

In 2015, Tafa signed with the UFC and made his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Mir. He lost the fight via unanimous decision but has since rebounded with a series of impressive victories.

Tafa is known for his powerful striking and aggressive fighting style. He has won the majority of his fights by knockout or technical knockout, including a stunning first-round knockout of former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski.

Despite his success in the UFC, Tafa has also faced some setbacks. In 2018, he was suspended for nine months by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for testing positive for a banned substance. He returned to action in 2019 and has since won two consecutive fights.

Tafa is currently ranked #12 in the UFC heavyweight division and is considered one of the top prospects in the sport. He has a bright future ahead of him and could potentially become one of the best heavyweights in the UFC.
