Kabelo Gwamanda (born 20 January 1983) is a South African former rugby union player for the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup and the Bulls in Super Rugby. He played as a fullback.
Born in Pretoria, Gwamanda began playing rugby at the age of six. He attended Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool where he captained his school team. He was also part of the Blue Bulls U19 team that won the U19 Currie Cup in 2002.
Gwamanda made his senior debut for the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup in 2003. He made his Super Rugby debut for the Bulls in 2004. Gwamanda was a member of the Bulls team that won the Super Rugby title in 2007. He also played for the Bulls in the Currie Cup final in 2007, which they lost to the Western Province.
Gwamanda was selected to the South Africa national under-21 team in 2004. He made his debut for the Springboks in a Test match against Wales in 2006. Gwamanda was a member of the Springboks squad that won the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
After the World Cup, Gwamanda retired from international rugby to focus on his domestic career. He continued to play for the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup and the Bulls in Super Rugby until he retired in 2013.
Personal lifeGwamanda is married to former Miss South Africa, Jacqui Mofokeng. They have three children together.
After retiring from rugby, Gwamanda worked as a television presenter and commentator. He is currently the head coach of the Bulls Under-21 team.
