Kai Asakura




Kai Asakura is a Japanese mixed martial artist who is currently fighting in the flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is a former Rizin Fighting Federation bantamweight champion and has also fought in organizations such as Shooto and DEEP.

Asakura made his professional debut in 2012 and quickly rose through the ranks, winning his first eight fights by either knockout or submission. He then signed with Rizin Fighting Federation in 2016 and made his promotional debut at Rizin 1. He defeated Kyoji Horiguchi in his second fight with the organization to win the Rizin bantamweight championship.

Asakura defended his title twice before losing it to Manel Kape in 2019. He then rebounded with a win over Shooto champion Yusaku Nakamura in 2020. After winning his next two fights, Asakura signed with the UFC in 2022.

Asakura made his UFC debut in 2022 and defeated Alexandre Pantoja to win the UFC flyweight championship. He then defended his title successfully against Brandon Royval.

Asakura is a highly skilled and experienced fighter. He has a well-rounded game and is dangerous in both the striking and grappling phases of the fight.
