Reflection on Workshop 7/11/2011

Today was an eclectic mix of an affirmation of my beliefs around the way forward in education, aswell as an exposure to many new applications.

As the SRM, I spend a lot of time with students who are frustrated within the academic context because they need to be engaged in a mutiple ways to stay motivated and inspired.

I was fascinated by the fear-based approach of many of our team, who sought to seek the problems in the web 2.0 applications. This I believe, is because this new way of educating is about relinquishing control and allowing for co-creation of learning and teaching.

I am excited by the prospect of being involved in a time when we redefine and shape education, This workshop was a brilliant starting point to this journey and I will certainly be playing in the clouds.
