Katheren Mittermayer's Family Feud: The Great Meatball Debate

Katheren Mittermayer was a woman who took her meatballs seriously. She had been making them for decades, using a secret family recipe that had been passed down from her Italian grandmother. Katheren's meatballs were legendary in her family, and everyone always looked forward to them at Sunday dinners.
But one fateful day, everything changed. Katheren's sister-in-law, Mary, decided to make her own meatballs for the family gathering. Mary was a good cook, but her meatballs were nothing like Katheren's. They were dry and bland, and they didn't have that special something that made Katheren's meatballs so delicious.
Katheren was horrified. She couldn't believe that Mary would dare to make meatballs that were so inferior to her own. She immediately confronted her sister-in-law, and a heated argument ensued.
"How could you make meatballs that are so bad?" Katheren demanded.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Mary replied. "My meatballs are just as good as yours."
"They are not!" Katheren exclaimed. "They're dry and tasteless!"
"Well, I think they're delicious," Mary said.
The argument went on for some time, with neither woman willing to concede defeat. Finally, Katheren had had enough.
"Fine," she said. "Let's put it to a vote. Everyone at the table gets to taste both meatballs and decide which ones they like better."
The family gathered around the table, and Mary and Katheren each served up their meatballs. Everyone took a bite of each, and then they voted.
The results were clear. Katheren's meatballs won by a landslide.
Mary was devastated. She couldn't believe that her meatballs had been so roundly rejected.
"I don't understand," she said. "I used the same recipe as you."
"Maybe you didn't use enough love," Katheren said.
Mary didn't say anything, but she knew that Katheren was right. She had been so focused on trying to prove that her meatballs were better than Katheren's that she had forgotten to put her heart into them.
From that day on, Mary never made meatballs again. And Katheren's meatballs remained the undisputed champion of the family.

The Moral of the Story

The moral of the story is that it's not always about being the best. Sometimes, it's just about putting your heart into what you do. And when you do that, the results will always be delicious.
