Kishore Kunal: A Life of Service and Sacrifice.




Kishore Kunal was born on 10th August 1950 in Sitamarhi, Bihar. He was the son of a humble farmer, and had a simple upbringing. Despite the challenges he faced, Kishore Kunal was a bright and determined student. He excelled in his studies, and went on to earn a degree in law from Patna University.

After graduating from law school, Kishore Kunal joined the Indian Police Service (IPS). He served as an IPS officer for over 30 years, and during that time he held a variety of positions, including Superintendent of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police, and Inspector General of Police.

Kishore Kunal was known for his dedication to duty and his commitment to justice. He was a fearless officer who never shied away from danger. He was also a compassionate and caring person, and he always went the extra mile to help those in need.

In 1992, Kishore Kunal was appointed as the Superintendent of Police of Ayodhya. This was a challenging time, as the city was embroiled in a bitter dispute over the construction of a temple on the site of the Babri Masjid. Kishore Kunal played a key role in maintaining peace and order during this difficult period.

In 2002, Kishore Kunal was appointed as the Director General of Police of Bihar. He held this position until his retirement in 2005. During his time as DGP, Kishore Kunal oversaw a number of important reforms, including the establishment of the Bihar Police Academy.

After his retirement from the IPS, Kishore Kunal continued to serve the people of Bihar. He was the founder of the Mahavir Mandir Trust, a charitable organization that provides free education and medical care to the poor. He was also a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly from 2010 to 2015.

Kishore Kunal was a true son of Bihar. He dedicated his life to serving the people of his state, and he made a lasting impact on the lives of countless people. He will be remembered as a brave and compassionate officer, and as a man who always put the needs of others before his own.

Kishore Kunal passed away on 29th December 2024, at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
