The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced their list of retained players ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. The franchise has retained six players, including some of their key performers from the previous season.
The retained players are as follows:
Rinku Singh, who was the highest run-scorer for KKR in the 2024 season, has been retained for a whopping Rs. 13 crore. The young batter has impressed everyone with his consistent performances and is seen as a future star in the IPL. Varun Chakaravarthy, the mystery spinner, has also been retained for Rs. 12 crore. Chakaravarthy was one of the key bowlers for KKR in the previous season and will be looking to continue his good form in 2025.
Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, the two overseas stars of KKR, have also been retained. Narine, the West Indian all-rounder, is one of the most experienced players in the IPL and has been a key part of KKR's success over the years. Russell, the Jamaican all-rounder, is known for his power-hitting and is one of the most feared batsmen in the IPL. Both Narine and Russell have been retained for Rs. 12 crore each.
Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh, the two uncapped players, have also been retained by KKR. Rana is a young wicket-keeper batter who has impressed with his performances in the domestic circuit. Ramandeep Singh is an all-rounder who can bat and bowl. Both players will be looking to make a mark in the IPL in the 2025 season.
The KKR team management will be hoping that their retained players can continue their good form in the 2025 season and help the team achieve success. The IPL auction will be held on December 20, 2024, and KKR will be looking to add some more quality players to their squad.
