Korean Air flight diverted

Korean Air flight KE631, from Incheon to Manila, was diverted to Taipei on Tuesday after a passenger made a bomb threat.

The plane landed safely at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at around 5:30 p.m. local time.

All 173 passengers and crew members were evacuated safely.

The passenger who made the threat, a 45-year-old South Korean man, was arrested by Taiwanese police.

The man is said to have told police that he made the threat because he was angry with the airline.

Korean Air said in a statement that it is "cooperating with the authorities in their investigation" and that it "regrets any inconvenience caused to passengers."

The incident comes just days after a Korean Air flight from Seoul to San Francisco was diverted to Tokyo after a passenger made a false bomb threat.

The airline has been criticized for its handling of both incidents.

In a statement, the Korean Air Pilots Association said that the airline "needs to do more to ensure the safety of its passengers and crew."
