Kristie Mewis




Kristie Mewis is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for West Ham United of the Women's Super League and the United States national team. She is known for her exceptional passing and shooting abilities, as well as her leadership on and off the field.

Early Life and Career

Mewis was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, and grew up in Hanson, Massachusetts. She began playing soccer at a young age and quickly developed a love for the game. She played for her high school team, the Whitman-Hanson Panthers, and led them to a state championship in 2008. She was also a member of the United States youth national teams at various levels.

In 2017, Mewis joined Manchester City of the FA Women's Super League. She spent two seasons with Manchester City, making over 50 appearances and scoring 10 goals. In 2019, she joined West Ham United of the FA Women's Super League.

International Career

Mewis made her senior debut for the United States national team in 2013. She has since earned over 50 caps for the United States and has represented her country at three FIFA Women's World Cups and two Olympics.

Mewis played a key role in the United States' victory at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, starting in all seven matches and scoring a goal in the semifinal against Germany. She also played in the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the United States finished in second place.
