I'm sitting here in my living room, watching Game 5 of the Lakers-Nuggets series, and I can't believe what I'm seeing. The Lakers are up by 20 points at halftime, and the Nuggets look like they're about to give up.
I'm a huge Lakers fan, so I'm obviously rooting for them to win. But even if I wasn't, I'd have to admit that they're playing incredibly well tonight. They're hitting their shots, they're playing great defense, and they're simply outplaying the Nuggets in every way.
The Nuggets, on the other hand, look like they're just going through the motions. They're not making their shots, they're not playing with any intensity, and they're just not playing like the team that we've seen all season long.
I don't know what's going on with the Nuggets, but I hope they can figure it out soon. Because if they don't, the Lakers are going to win this series in a sweep.
Here are some of the highlights from the first half:
The Lakers are shooting 55% from the field, while the Nuggets are shooting just 38%. The Lakers are also outrebounding the Nuggets 24-16.
I'm not sure if the Lakers are going to be able to keep up this level of play for the entire game, but they're certainly looking good right now. If they can keep it up, they're going to win this series in a rout.
Update: The Lakers have won Game 5 by a score of 120-96. LeBron James led the way with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists. Anthony Davis added 21 points and 12 rebounds. Nikola Jokic had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Nuggets.
The Lakers now lead the series 3-2, and they can clinch the series with a win in Game 6.
I'm so excited to see how this series ends. The Lakers are playing great basketball right now, but the Nuggets are a tough team. I think it's going to be a close series, but I'm rooting for the Lakers to win.
