Leaving cert results

Hurray! The results are out! The feeling of relief is unmeasurable and such a sense of achievement, for students and parents alike!
As a parent, I cannot imagine how the teachers, students, and parents must have felt throughout the past 2 years. The students who did their Junior Cycle during Covid-19 also had their first year of senior cycle interrupted; learning in school, truly resumed in September 2021.
The Leaving Cert is a huge part of a student’s life. It’s the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, and it can be a very stressful time. You must remember now that all the pressure and worry is over. The results are here and they are what they are. Take some time to relax and enjoy this moment! The pressure is off, so go out and do something you enjoy. Spend time with friends and family, or just take some time for yourself to do something you’ve been wanting to do.
For the past 6 years, I have been teaching Irish to Leaving Certificate students. I have been privileged to witness the rollercoaster of emotions students go through during the 2 years in senior cycle. The excitement when they choose their subjects, the nerves as they sit their mocks, and the sheer relief when they finally get their results. It is truly a special thing to be a part of.
So, to all of the Leaving Cert students out there, I want to say congratulations! You’ve done it! You’ve made it through one of the most challenging times in your life to date, and you’ve come out the other side stronger than ever. Be proud of yourself, and know that you can achieve anything you set your mind to..
Now that the results are out, it’s time to start thinking about the next chapter in your life. What are you going to do next? What are you going to study? Where are you going to go? The future is full of possibilities, and it’s up to you to create the life you want.
Congratulations again to all of the Leaving Cert students! I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
