Legendary Luchador rey misterio sr. passes away
Legendary Luchador Rey Mysterio Sr. has passed away at the age of 66.
Mysterio, who was the uncle of WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio Jr., died on December 20, 2024.
No cause of death has been released.
Mysterio Sr. was a pioneer in the world of wrestling, and he is credited with helping to popularize lucha libre in the United States.
He began his career in the 1970s and wrestled for a variety of promotions, including the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), World Wrestling Championship (WCW), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
Mysterio Sr. was a three-time WCW Cruiserweight Champion and a one-time WCW World Tag Team Champion.
He was also inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 2002.
Mysterio Sr. is survived by his wife, two children, and several grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by the wrestling community and fans around the world.
