Born in Naga City, Philippines, on April 23, 1965, Leni Robredo was raised in a humble family. She faced adversity from a young age, losing her mother at the tender age of nine. Despite the challenges, she persevered, excelling in her studies and graduating with honors from the University of Nueva Caceres with a degree in Economics.

Leni's life took a dramatic turn in 2012 when her husband, Jesse Robredo, the then-Secretary of the Interior and Local Government, tragically died in a plane crash.
