Level 8 weather warning

An incoming storm that could cause serious disruption has been issued.
The Met Office has issued a Level 8 thunderstorm warning for the entire country. It means there is a significant risk of:
* flash flooding, with homes and businesses at risk
* landslides
* power cuts
* flying debris
A number of rescues have taken place already. Several people were trapped in their cars in Gloucestershire after heavy rain caused a river to burst its banks.
A farmer in Northumberland also had to be rescued from his tractor after it was swept away by flood water.
The Met Office says the worst of the rain is likely to hit in the afternoon.
The warning comes as the UK continues to be battered by a series of storms. Last week, Storm Dennis brought widespread flooding and travel disruption.
Experts say the recent storms are a sign of the changing climate.
The Met Office says the following areas are at risk of flooding:
* South West England
* West Midlands
* Wales
* East Anglia
If you are in an area that is at risk of flooding, the Met Office advises you to:
* turn off your gas, water and electricity
* move your belongings to a higher level
* board up your windows
* fill your bathtub and sink with water
* prepare an emergency kit
You can also sign up for flood warnings from the Environment Agency.
The Environment Agency has also issued a number of flood warnings and alerts. You can check if your area is at risk on the Environment Agency website.
Stay safe in the storm!
