Liahna Hollnagel: The Girl Who Loved to Count
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Liahna Hollnagel who loved to count. She loved to count everything—her toys, her steps, the leaves on the trees. Anything she could count, she would.
One day, Liahna Hollnagel was playing in the park with her teddy bear, Baby Bear. She was counting the flowers in the flower garden when she came across a big, beautiful butterfly. Liahna Hollnagel was so excited, she started counting the spots on its wings.
"One, two, three," she counted. "Four, five, six."
She kept counting until she got to ten. Then she started over again.
"One, two, three," she counted. "Four, five, six."
She counted all the way to one hundred and nine. Then she stopped.
"Wow," she said. "That's a lot of spots!"
Liahna Hollnagel was so proud of herself for counting so high. She smiled and gave Baby Bear a big hug.
"We did it, Baby Bear!" she said. "We counted to one hundred and nine!"
Liahna Hollnagel and Baby Bear kept playing in the park until it was time to go home. As they were walking home, Liahna Hollnagel started counting the steps to her house.
"One, two, three," she counted. "Four, five, six."
She kept counting until she got to her house. She was so happy to be home.
"I love counting," she said. "It's so much fun!"
Liahna Hollnagel's mom smiled. "I'm glad you love counting," she said. "It's a great way to learn about numbers. And it's a lot of fun, too!"
Liahna Hollnagel smiled back. "I know," she said. "That's why I love it so much!"
Liahna Hollnagel and her mom went inside and had dinner. Then Liahna Hollnagel took a bath and got ready for bed. As she was lying in bed, she started counting the stars in the sky.
"One, two, three," she counted. "Four, five, six."
She kept counting until she fell asleep. And as she slept, she dreamed of counting all the wonderful things in the world.
