Life of Otto Frank



Mr. Frank is also known as, Otto Frank was born on May 12, 1889, In Frankfurt, am Main, Germany.

Otto was born into a liberal Jewish family, he had three siblings. An older brother, and a younger brother and sister. His father, Michael, ran a bank. Fran spent his summer studying art history at the University of Heidelberg after graduating from high school.

During summer frank worked at a local bank for a year. He also began studying economics. when a former classmate set up an internship for Frank at Macy's Department store in Manhattan, New York,  he jumped at the chance to gain business experience.

The Jewish went to the Westerbork concentration camp in the Netherlands when they were caught in the annex.

The father of Anne Frank, whose diaries convey a message of stunning hope in the face of the destruction of European Jewry during World War II, died Tuesday at a hospital in Basel, Switzerland. The cause of death was not reported, but news agencies said he had experienced breathing difficulties for six months.

In 1911, Otto went home a took a job from a company that fabricated window frames. After a while, he switched jobs during World war I to work for a manufacturer of horseshoes for the German military. In 1914, however, Frank was conscripted into the German army and sent to the Western Front, where he achieved the rank of lieutenant. When the war ended, Frank took over the family bank, which his younger brother had been managing poorly.

On May 12, 1925, Otto married his first wife, Edith Hollander. Edith gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter named Margot, on February 16, 1926. On June 12, 1929, Edith and Otto rejoiced in the birth of their youngest daughter, Annelies Marie Frank, more commonly known as Anne frank. In 1933, Otto relocated the family to Holland to avoid the dangers of Germany once Adolf hitler had risen to power.

In 1940 after Holland invaded Germany Jewish people were no longer to own businesses. August 19, 1980, was the day Otto frank, unfortunately, passed away due to lung cancer.
