Longwe Twala

On July 21, 2020, 26-year-old Longwe Twala was brutally attacked in Tembisa, Gauteng. He was left for dead, but miraculously survived. Three years later, he shares his story of resilience and recovery.

It was a cold, rainy night. Longwe had just left a friend’s house and was walking home when he was attacked by a group of men. They hit him with stones and bricks. He called for help, but no one came. He tried to fight them off, but he was outnumbered and outmatched.

Eventually, the men ran off, leaving Longwe lying on the ground in a pool of blood. He lay there for hours, unable to move. He thought he was going to die.

But then, something amazing happened. A group of people came walking by. They saw Longwe lying on the ground and called for help. Soon, an ambulance arrived and took Longwe to the hospital.

Longwe spent the next two months in the hospital, recovering from his injuries. He had a broken jaw, a broken nose, and several other injuries. He also had to undergo surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.

But through it all, Longwe never gave up hope. He was determined to survive, no matter what. He told himself that he was a fighter and that he would not let his attackers win.

And he did survive. After two months, he was finally released from the hospital. He still had a long way to go in his recovery, but he was determined to get back to his normal life.

Since his attack, Longwe has undergone extensive rehabilitation. He is still working on regaining his full range of motion and speech.

But he is making progress every day. He is now able to walk and talk, and he is working hard to regain his strength. He is also working on finding a job and getting his life back on track.

Longwe’s story is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. He was brutally attacked and left for dead, but he never gave up hope. He fought for his life, and he survived.

Longwe is an inspiration to us all. He shows us that anything is possible if we never give up.
