Man United vs bodø/glimt is a Snoozefest
As a lifelong Man United fan, I was so excited for the upcoming match against Norwegian minnows bodø/glimt in the Europa League.
But oh boy, what a letdown it turned out to be.
The match was so boring, I could have sworn I was watching paint dry.
The first half was a complete non-event. Both teams just passed the ball around midfield without any real purpose or intent.
The only excitement came in the 25th minute when bodø/glimt's Ola Solbakken hit the post with a shot from outside the box.
Other than that, it was all just a lot of sideways passing and backtracking.
The second half was even worse. Man United finally started to show some attacking intent, but their finishing was woeful.
Marcus Rashford had a golden opportunity to put United ahead in the 65th minute, but he somehow managed to blaze his shot over the bar from six yards out.
Bruno Fernandes also had a good chance to score in the 70th minute, but his shot was well saved by bodø/glimt goalkeeper Nikita Haikin.
In the end, the match ended in a 0-0 draw, which was a fair result considering how poor both teams were.
Man United were simply not good enough on the night, and they will need to improve significantly if they want to progress in the Europa League.
Well, at least the hot dogs at Old Trafford were good.
