Manchester City won 5-0 against Kopenhagen

Manchester City took on FC Kopenhagen in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday night - and they did so in emphatic fashion.

The English champions were in complete control from the start, with Erling Haaland scoring twice in the first half to put them 2-0 up at the break.

City continued to dominate after the restart, with Riyad Mahrez, Julian Alvarez and Joao Cancelo all getting on the scoresheet to complete the rout.

It was a dominant display from Pep Guardiola's side, who will now be confident of finishing the job in the second leg in Denmark.

Haaland's double takes him to 32 goals in all competitions this season, and he is now the joint-top scorer in the Champions League with seven goals.

Mahrez's goal was his first in the Champions League since October, while Alvarez and Cancelo both scored their first goals of the competition this season.

City's victory means they have now won their last four matches in all competitions, and they will be looking to continue their good form when they travel to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.

Kopenhagen, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back when they host AGF Aarhus in the Danish Superliga on Sunday.
