A friend of mine has got his new project out there for a while now. You have paid attention to the title of this page?

I asked him what the purpose of his site is:

A: Well, I got a bunch of stuff on my HD and I want it out there "free for all".

Q: You are going to give it all away for free - are you nuts?

A: Well, of course not all of it - but I would guess at about 70% of it.

Q: Oh good, I thought you where getting gaga in your head - you ain't the youngest anymore....

A: WTF, leave my age out of it!

Q: ....In which direction are you going with the site?

A: My concept may change a little - eventually it might become a free membership site with a Pro Level or something. Have not decided on that yet. For now, the site will be fed with all the stuff I decide to let go for free.

Q: And what about monetization?

A: Damn are you nosey - there may be affiliate links in the products, there may be a special offer of one of my products included and the site itself will display ads to some of my own products. Then there is the list my site will generate. Normal stuff.

Q: Yeah, sounds good. How did you structure your site.

A: You are talking menu?

Must have and Reviews, may move to uwe-marx.net, my main site. Well, main site in the aspect of - if I need to register a business, I'll name it uwe-marx.net and all copyright notices will state uwe-marx.net and not the project domains they sit on. This may be a stupid move but until I realize that it is indeed dumb - I'll go with it.

Q: I did not say one word. How far are you with your site?

A: Well, I guess I have not even got half of the content I have on there and right now I'm trying to find out why Big G hates me as far as my rankings are concerned. SEO is something I'd rather flush down the toilet then spend time on.

Q: Even Google doesn't know exactly what their algo does nor do they have concrete ideas how to influence it. Trial and Error mostly!

A: I'd start writing a new one if the old one is not predictable anymore.

Q: I think that may be exactly what Panda is all about.

BTW, do you mind if I use this little talk in a little project involving PageOrama - it may help you site. I want to find out if PageOrama is usable as sort of a buffer site. It has lost some  ranking though in the last few month. Not enough good content on it I guess.

A: Doubt our little talk will change that a whole lot LOF.
