Matric results 2024: How to check online




It's that time of year again, when matriculants eagerly await the release of their final results. The 2024 matric results will be released on 19 January 2025.
How to check your results online
You can check your matric results online at the Department of Basic Education's website: www.education.gov.za.
1. Go to the DBE website and click on the "Matric Results" tab.
2. Enter your examination number and ID number.
3. Click on the "Submit" button.
Your results will be displayed on the screen. You can print or save a copy of your results for your records.
What if I don't have access to the internet?
If you don't have access to the internet, you can check your results via SMS. To do this, SMS your examination number to 45856. You will receive an SMS with your results.
What if I lost my examination number?
If you have lost your examination number, you can contact the Department of Basic Education at 0800 202 933.
What if I am not satisfied with my results?
If you are not satisfied with your results, you can apply for a remark. The deadline to apply for a remark is 7 February 2025.
How to apply for a remark
To apply for a remark, you need to submit a completed application form to the Department of Basic Education. The application form is available on the DBE website.
The application fee for a remark is R110 per subject.
What happens if my remark is successful?
If your remark is successful, your new mark will be recorded on your National Senior Certificate.
What if my remark is unsuccessful?
If your remark is unsuccessful, your original mark will stand.
